GREAT CULINARY ACADEMY OF THE AMERICAS

Concepts:
Academy: House in Athens, close to Academo’s  gymnasium, where Plato and other philosophers taught . School of Philosophical Thought, founded by Plato, whose doctrines were modified over time. It’s name was, precisely, Academy. In modern times, the word “academy” is used to designate any scientific, literary or artistic society or association of professionals or amateurs in any given area of study, work or creative or intellectual activity. Some academies provide professional training in defferent areas.

General Considerations:

The Great Culinary Academy of the Americas is the result of 12 years of work by AREGALA, fostering closer links between countries in the Americas through culinary activities. ACLA works to give universal relevance to the culinary culture of our continent, allowing its members to disseminate that culture through their professional and academic activities in the field or gastronomy.

General Objectives:

1-Bring together the best chefs and world-class gastronomists, allowing them to teach, discuss, research, share experiences, and be active in the area of gastronomy in the Americas.

2- Invite the best chefs and world-class gastronomists to be members of the Academy.

3- Group the most qualified culinary professionals in each country of the Americas, so that they may represent our continent on a global basis. Also, the Academy intends to be the entity that grants post- graduate titles in culinary arts, acts on a juror capacity in important culinary events, grants awards to the best examples of cuisine in the Americas, and participates as a grader/examiner in final exams at the Gastronomy universities, schools and institutes that meet ACLAS’s professional standards.
